Stars, Gold, Passion, Sleep

Hundred&none favorite london-based producer Starsmith teamed up with his favorite vocalist ellie goulding again and provides us with this fresh take on 'sleepyhead' by indie sensation passion pit. You might be sick of 'sleepyhead' reworks by now but trust me, this is definitely the exception. All new vocals and a really different feeling. (and if you listen closely, you can hear starsmith making his singing debut!)

Show starsmith some myspace love and i also recommend you head over to our friends from neon gold to pick up some more recent starsmith heat, meaning a nice five minutes summer minimix. (and we'll have an exclusive track on here as well real soon, stay tuned!) read more!

This is amazing, Greg (of MISHKA) interviewed by Diplo (who probably still had dreads at the time) about Mr.T

STAMPEEEEEEDDD

sure there may be enough genres these days to make your head spin, but the flip side is that artists don't necessarily limit themselves to staying in just one vein. rampage is taking full advantage of all the identity crisis and mixing dubstep with jackin' house with b-more on into a new pure hybrid, showcased on his new ep 'war' out on our favorite label nightshifters.

This ones goin off like a kettle!

IT'S ONE O' THEM.

EARDRUM + BREAKTHRU present a night of dubstep and dnb this Saturday at the Custard Factory Digbeth.

As you might know here at Hundred&none we arn't the biggest fans of the out dated drum n bass scene, and are frankly gutted that Dubstep seems to have become it's adopted son.

skinny kids in baseball caps stinkin' of weed? nuh-uh.

But we do believe that this may be worth a look this Saturday, after all, even if the DrabnBass lives up to it's new name, you have only paid five quid to get in.
Skream is one of the best live Dubstep acts we've seen and with a line-up which closely follows in his footsteps we can't see why someone has tainted this night 'dnb' at all.

Although
Skream will entertain, we believe the real man to watch is NERO

We might be there, it's one of them.

I Smell a Field Trip.

Festivals nowadays seem to be all about the mess, mud, mix-ups, mouldy toilets and mainstream music. The idea of events like T4 on the beach, ilse of white etc. being thrown into the same category as festivals from yester-year seems silly. Whats wrong with a one-dayer that is low budget, clean, easy to naviagte and BRAND NEW?

The festival newborn that is 'Field Day' now only in it's third proper year is The one to watch this summer fo' sho'. Grab the sun cream/ice cream/you scream it's gonna be BIG!!

With currently 52 acts playing on 5 stages it's gunna be hard to miss. HUGE names wll be gracing Victoria park including: Erol Alkan Fake Blood Allez-Allez Mystery Jets Little Boots no pain in pop DJs Rusko Eat Your Own Ears DJs Plus many more. And the best part is it's only £29.50!!

For us it's all about Greco-Roman Soundsystem on the Blogger's Delight stage.

Aint no Joker.....

Joker, a dubstep producer/dj from bristol has caught many an eye and pricked many an ear, for his forward thinking take on dubstep, drawing on infulences from other musical genres like hip-hop, swing, RnB and Latin to really push the scene forward and create his own unique sound. A couple of tracks that have made his name on the dubstep scene are 'Snake Eater' and 'Digidesign'. Not your obvious bass driven fun, but really well produced tracks which put Joker apart from the rest. Try and get a hold of his mix at SOnar festival which you can find on BNTL a few posts ago on their blogroll, its LIVE and also shows what a good dj he is as well as a top producer.

......Also on the dubstep side of things, it would be rude of me not to post a killer track by Coki called 'Goblin' never released, but can can you blame him for this mess?!?!?! HUGE HUGE TRACK!
